The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has awarded two $180,000 scholarships to radiologists Matthew Lee, MD, and Luca Pasquini, MD, PhD.
The ARRS Scholarships are granted to support early-career faculty members pursuing radiological research that promises to change how medical imaging is practiced, the ARRS said.
Lee is an assistant professor of radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. His research focuses on AI applications in abdominal imaging, opportunistic imaging, body composition analysis, workflow optimization, and advancing radiology’s role in population health.

Pasquini is an assistant professor of radiology and biomedical imaging at Yale School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in neuro-oncology imaging and a nuclear medicine residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2024 and is internationally recognized for his contributions to understanding brain plasticity, the ARRS said.
The pair will be formally recognized as recipients of the ARRS Scholarship during the opening ceremony of the 2025 ARRS Annual Meeting to be held from April 27 to May 1 in San Diego, CA.
