Radiology, the flagship journal of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), is currently taking applications for the position of editor in chief (EIC).
Linda Moy, MD, Radiology’s current EIC, is stepping down from the position at the end of August to focus on her role as the inaugural vice chair of AI in the Department of Radiology at New York University, the RSNA said. Moy has served as EIC for the journal since January 2023.
The RSNA anticipates that the chosen candidate will assume the role in January 2026, with an interim editor serving from September to December 2025.
A search committee will assist the RSNA’s Board of Directors in finding a new EIC, and it aims to make the process as broad and inclusive as possible, according to the RSNA.
Radiology’s EIC is responsible for “encouraging submissions of scientific manuscripts, for setting high standards of scientific integrity, for developing guidelines and mechanisms for peer review of submitted manuscripts, for release of accepted manuscripts on a timely basis for publication, and for formulating and interpreting editorial philosophy and policies for the journal,” the RSNA said.
Additionally, the EIC oversees the publication of RSNA journals and collaborates with the RSNA board liaison for publications, the Publications Council chair, and other internal stakeholders.
The job description, requirements, and qualifications for the position can be found on the RSNA’s site, along with instructions for applying for the role.
