Scottsdale, AZ-based outpatient medical imaging provider SimonMed Imaging has confirmed that it experienced a data breach in January and will issue notices about the event to affected individuals.
The company was alerted by one of its vendors of a “security incident” on January 27. It reviewed its systems, discovered suspicious activity, and began an investigation. The investigation revealed that there indeed was “unauthorized access to [the company’s] systems between January 21 and February 5. SimonMed is encouraging those who may have been affected to review their account statements and make use of free credit reports from companies such as Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion.
