The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) is appointing Tom Kern to its Board of Trustees.
Kern has more than 20 years of technical expertise and leadership in imaging informatics and currently serves as the Imaging Informatics Team Lead at the American College of Radiology (ACR) in Reston, VA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Science degree in cybersecurity from Grand Canyon University. He also received his Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification in 2007.
Kern has managed operations of imaging applications for multiple multihospital healthcare systems. This included establishing new teleradiology information technology (IT) infrastructure and workflows at a Level 1 stroke and trauma center and mentoring junior analysts in imaging informatics and enterprise IT.
